How it works

Upload an image and the tool sends it to a server-side converter that crops it to the selected aspect ratio, extracts grayscale brightness into a compact preview grid, and then derives multiple black-and-white outputs from that same analysis. ASCII mode maps brightness to characters, while Black & White and Dots restyle the same crop with heuristic Focus, Background, and Edge layers. Click the preview to enter repositioning mode and drag to adjust the crop window when the aspect ratio clips the image.
